After an encouraging opening Friday practice the second session would see both AT&T Williams drivers drop down thge order to finish outside the top ten. Rubens Barrichello would finish in thirteenth while Nico Hulkenberg was down in sixteenth. The session saw Nico complain about his tyres to the team while at the same time it was found that the team was running on fairly heavy fuel loads so the times that were set did not give a true indication of their quickest pace.
