AT&T Williams driver Rubens Barrichello would spin out of Q2 after what Rubens would describe as a silly mistake.

Qualifying for the 2011 Australian Grand Prix would see AT&T Williams driver Rubens Barrichello make what was a very simple mistake but it would see him out of qualifying.

Rubens would run wide on the run to Turn three putting his left tyres on the grass seeing him spin and into the gravel trap where he was not able to return to the track. This would see his Q2 end without setting a time. Rubens was asked about the spin later and he would admit that it was down to driver error.

In an interview with the BBC Ruben said: "I think it was a pure error. This morning we had a problem with the gearbox and things were a bit rushed.

"The prime tyres had the time so it didn't even matter, so I just went probably a little bit wide and made a mistake - a silly one."

Rubens added: "The option tyres were fine but the pace was faster than what we thought. So we need to see what is the final time because the car didn't look that fast. Looking on the very positive we saved tyres. Who knows, tomorrow is a big doubt for everyone."
