The last four drivers would leave the pits as others returned after their installation lap. Several drivers would complete two installation laps with the last driver to come out been Alonso. Both Pastor and Bruno were back in the Williams pit for their usual checks. Everyone had been out on the medium tyre with the first driver to come back out was Kobayashi followed by Karthikeyan and Pic. Kobayashi would set the first time a 1m:49.193. With thirty five minutes remaining the order was Pastor from Hamilton, Raikkonen, Massa, Grosjean, Perez, and Bruno seventh. Hamilton was on a quicker lap going fastest in sectors one and two. He would finish with a 1m:42.851 to lead Pastor by 1.128 seconds. Schumacher was now third, 1m:44.128, and Hulkenberg seventh. Both Bruno and Pastor would pit after their first runs. Force India team-mate Di Resta was now seventh, 1m:44.192, while the only driver yet to set a time was Vettel with twenty five minutes remaining. Alonso would go quicker to be third with a 1m:43.634. Hamilton continue to put in quicker laps setting a 1m:42.148 still running on the harder tyre. Both Pastor and Bruno had left their pits with Bruno out on the soft tyre. Hamilton would pit as Button went second with a 1m:42.879. Vettel was still in his pit with his mechanics working on his car. Grosjean was also on the soft tyre with the track now very busy. Alonso was now third with a 1m:43.517 while Webber was on a quicker lap. Webber would back off in the final sector while Bruno's first lap on the softer tyre was not very quick.

Grosjean was able to use his soft tyres to good effect to set a 1m:43.261 to be third. Pastor would also improve to be fourth with a1m:43.340. Vettel's mechanics were now changing his front brake calipers while for Williams Bruno had set a 1m:44.071 to be tenth. Pastor had pitted after his run with Massa now eighth, 1m:43.880. Schumacher and Rosberg were now tenth and eleventh with Bruno now twelfth and back in his garage. With twelve minutes remaining there were only a handful of cars out on the track with Rosberg having moved up to eighth, 1m:43.846. The track was now empty with ten minutes remaining. Drivers would start to return to the track including Pastor who was on his first soft tyre run. Bruno would join more drivers taking to the track all looking to complete their qualifying simulations. Pastor would lock up right front tyre on his first run but would back off in the last sector.

Perez was up to seventh, 1m:43.571, while Webber would go fastest in sector two but would only improve to be third, 1m:42.743. Vettel would leave the pit lane on the soft tyre. Raikkonen was up to fifth as Hamilton went fastest in sector one and two. Button would improve with a 1m:42.420 to remain second. Pastor was now seventh and Bruno fifteenth as the final minutes counted down. Hamilton would finish with a 1m:42.130 to remain fastest. Alonso was now seventh, 1m:43.133, with Perez first to pit. Bruno was on a quicker lap but he would fail to improve after having set personal bests in the first two sectors. Hulkenberg was now fourth, 1m:42.750, but this would become fifth as Vettel move dup to third with a 1m:42.614. The session would come to an end with Hamilton fastest from Button, Vettel, Webber, Hulkenberg, Grosjean, Pastor, Alonso, Raikkonen, and Di Resta tenth.

A good result for Pastor but Bruno again struggled to match his team-mates pace. With his practice efforts it was looking promising for Pastor to make it into the final period of qualifying but for Bruno it was again looking like he would struggle to make it into the second.
