Ralf loses engineer

It has been reported that Ralf Schumacher is to lose his car engineer  with Craig Wilson set to leave the WilliamsF1 team for British American Racing where he will work alongside ex WilliamsF1 driver Jenson Button.

Ralf with Craig WilsonWilson has been employed with the BMW WilliamsF1 team for the past three years as Ralf Schumacher's engineer and will be replaced by Gordon Day.

British American Racing have confirmed that Wilson will be starting work with them in the near future. Button should not find it difficult working with Wilson as they would have spent time together when Button drove for WilliamsF1. As for Ralf Schumacher, to lose his engineer so close to the start of the 2003 season will pose problems for him as he would have developed a good relationship with Wilson.

How quickly he can establish such a relationship with his new engineer may have an impact on the early part of his 2003 season.

But knowing WilliamsF1 they are able to bring on other staff members whose back ground gives them the experience to settle in quickly, such as in the case when Geoff Willis left the team.
