The final practice session for the 2013 Italian GP would see Williams F1 drivers Pastor Maldonado and Valtteri Bottas finish in 9th and 15th. Pastor was inside the top ten for the session with Valtteri only dropping down the order after the qualifying simulations. An encouraging performance leading up to qualifying.

Saturday practice would get underway with the normal installation laps from the drivers. For the Williams F1 team Pastor Maldonado would take to the track first followed shortly after by team-mate Valtteri Bottas. Pirelli had brought their medium and hard tyres for this weekend with the drivers using the hard tyre for their first runs. The first drivers to set a time would be those from Caterham with Van der Gar fastest from PIC with a time of 1m:28.728. Perez would get things moving with a 1m:26.489 to be fastest with Sutil now second, 1m:27.314. Di Resta would move ahead of team-mate Sutil with a 1m:26.725. Valtteri would report that all was OK with his car. Di Resta would improve with a 1m:26.230 to be quickest from Perez, 1m:26.320. Other
drivers would start to come out for their first runs including Ricciardo, Rosberg, Gutierrez and Hulkenberg.

Perez would improve with a 1m:26.004 to move ahead of Di Resta. Hulkenberg was now third, 1m:26.511, followed by Sutil, Ricciardo, Pic, and Van der Gar. We now had both Williams drivers back on the track with forty five minutes remaining in the session. Both Lotus cars had also left the pit lane along with Hamilton. Raikkonen would go fastest with a 1m:25.871 from Perez and Hulkenberg. Vergne was now eighth and Rosberg eleventh. Pastor's first lap would see him move up to fifth, 1m:26.212, but he would rop to eighth. Vergne would move up to be fastest, 1m:25.551 and Gutierrez second but Raikkonen would also improve to go fastest
again with a 1m:25.514. Valtteri was now sixth with a time of 1m:26.043 as Vettel went fastest with a 1m:25.265. Webber was now fourth having dropped one place courtesy of his team-mate.

Hamilton was now fourth, 1m:25.562, as Pastor also found time to be sixth with a 1m:25.733. Valtteri had dropped to tenth but had found time with a 1m:26.009. Webber was now fifth but on a quicker lap moving up to second with a 1m:25.348. Vettel had also improved with a 1m:24.947 as the track became quieter as drivers
pitted from their first laps. Both Williams drivers were out on the hard tyre as we saw Pastor move up to third with a 1m:25.494. Valtteri would follow Pastor's lead also finding time with a 1m:25.660 to be seventh. Hamilton would move up to third pushing Pastor into fourth. Webber would find time setting a 1m:25.168 but remained second. Both Pastor and Valtteri would pit with thirty five minutes remaining. Raikkonen was now fifth followed by Vergne, Valtteri, Grosjean, Gutierrez, Perez, and Di Resta twelfth.

The Ferrari drivers were trying to tow each other around the circuit with Massa now tenth and Alonso now fourth. Pastor was now fifth and Valtteri ninth. Alonso would complete a quicker lap going second with a 1m:25.151. Button was now seventh but his next lap would see him improve to be fourth, 1m:25.371. This would see Pastor now sixth telling the team that his car felt better. Several drivers were back out for their second runs including Pastor for Williams. The track was again quite busy with Valtteri also coming out. Di Resta would go off at the Parabolica hitting the barrier quite hard. Di Resta felt that something had broken in his car seeing him run off. The track would be cleared quickly not affecting the session. Sutil would spin his Force India at the Ascari chicane but was able to continue.

Pastor was back out on the hard tyre as Vettel improved with a 1m:24.736. Valtteri had taken a front wing adjustment prior to returning to the track. Vettel would go faster in the final two sectors setting a 1m:24.551. Pastor was certainly doing better with his hard tyre times being better than what he set yesterday on the medium tyre. Rosberg was stuck in his pit with his mechanics working on his car with what was a hydraulic problem. Webber would move back up to second with a 1m:25.120 and with fifteen minutes remaining the track was empty as the drivers prepared for their qualifying simulations. Pastor would comment of a front wing adjustment made on his “Slightly better, some understeer. I really think it’s working a bit.” So prior to their final runs Pastor and Valtteri were sixth and ninth.

Drivers would start to return to the track with Button out first followed by several other drivers. Quickly the track would fill with Valtteri coming out first for Williams. Pastor was back out leaving just Rosberg still in his garage with his mechanics still working on his car. There was now six minutes left in the session with everyone out on the medium tyre. With drivers setting times the order would change rapidly with
Button now fourth from Ricciardo, Massa, Hulkenberg, Vergne, Hamilton, and Pastor now tenth. Both Williams drivers were on their quick lap with Pastor now twelfth and Valtteri fourteenth as Raikkonen moved into fifth, 1m:25.120, but Pastor's first lap would see him fifth with a time of 1m:25.116. Vettel was on a very quick lap setting a 1m:24.360 to remain fastest.

Valtteri was now fifteenth and was now looking like he would improve. Pastor had dropped to ninth with other drivers going faster with Perez now in fifth followed by Ricciardo, Massa, and Button. Vettel and Alonso had pitted as the session came to an end. Webber was third with a 1m:24.677 followed by Hamilton. The track
would start to empty with Valtteri pulling into his pit having failed to improve. Pastor would also come in finishing the session in ninth. An encouraging performance from Pastor but somewhat of a disappointment from Valtteri who was now able to improve on his early pace in the session.
