Australian GP: Williams drivers finish in top ten in FP3

After losing much of Friday practice due to the weather the Williams Martini team was quickly out in the final ptactice session for the 2016 Australian GP. The Williams team would use the session running on the supersoft tyre assessing them for qualifying an fthe race. With the end of the session Valtteri Bottas and Felipe Massa would finish in 7th and 9th.

Martini Australian GP Saturday Practice
Team Summary:
After a day of wet conditions the Williams Martini team would see a cloudy
but dry day for the final practice session. With the start of the session
both Williams drivers would come out on the super soft tyre. After their
first runs Valtteri and felipe were ninth and tenth. Quickest at this time
was Kvyat with a 1m:28.510. Ricciardo was now quickest with a 1m:27.733,
followed by Kvyat and Vettel. Both Williams cars were still out doing a very
long run on the supersoft tyre. After fifteen laps both Williams drivers
would pit. After a lot of running by all the teams it would be Rosberg who
would set a 1m:26.149 to be quickest, running on the soft tyre.
Felipe and Valtteri would come out for their second runs and would move up
to sixth and tenth, but would drop to seventh and eleventh as Hamilton went
into second. Both Williams cars would pit briefly currently in ninth and
tenth. On the supersoft tyre Vettel would go quickest with a 1m:25.852. Both
Williams cars would pit with thirteen minutes remaining in the session. ON
the supersoft tyre Rosberg would set a 1m:25.800 to go quickest but Hamilton
would set a 1m:25.624 to go even quicker.
Both Williams cars would come back out again on the supersoft tyre. Felipe
would move up to seventh and Valtteri fifth. This was more representative of
where they are relative to the likes of Red Bull. Both Williams cars would
pit briefly with Valtteri having dropped to seventh and Felipe ninth with
the Torro Rosso cars now in fourth and sixth. But both Williams drivers
would pit just prior to the end of the session. Their session had seen them
only run on the supersoft tyre.
Felipe Massa:
Felipe would take to the track first with the start of the session. His
first lap time was a 1m:32.718. A 1m:32.346 was a slight improvement but
Felipe was down in twentieth. After fifteen laps Felipe would pit down in
twenty first. Felipe would complain that his fort tyres were a big problem
with images showing the front tyres looking very badly worn.
Felipe would return to the track continuing to run on the supersoft tyre. He
would set a 1m:27.777 to be sixth. He would improve with a 1m:27.684 to now
be seventh. Felipe would complete his run currently in ninth. On his next
run Felipe would set a 1m:27.151 to be seventh, dropping to eighth courtesy
of his team-mate. He would finish the session in ninth.
Valtteri Bottas:
Like Felipe Valtteri was out early in the session and would set a 1m:31.960.
He would improve with a 1m:31.726, currently in thirteenth. Valtteri would
also pit after his long run on the supersoft tyre. Valtteri was also back
out on a new set of supersoft tyres for his next run. He would set a
1m:28.153 to be tenth. Valtteri's next lap was a 1m:27.800 to see him eighth
one place behind his team-mate. Valtteri had also come in currently in
tenth. Valtteri's next run would see him again on the supersoft tyre and
would set a 1m:26.730 to be sixth. This was 1.1 seconds off the quickest
time. Valtteri would complete the session in seventh.
