Team Summary:
For the Williams Martini team both drivers would start the second Friday practice again starting on the medium tyre. After their first runs Valtteri Bottas and Felipe Massa would be ninth and eleventh. Valtteri would improve to be eighth but both Williams drivers were over 1.5 seconds off the quickest time set by Hamilton with a 1m:33.505. Again the Williams FW38 seemed to be struggling for pace as the session continued. Both Williams drivers would pit with just over an hour remaining. Drivers would now start to set times with the soft tyre as Vettel went quickest with a 1m:32.570. But Hamilton would use his soft tyres to set a 1m:31.660 to the Ferrari 0.910 behind. Hamilton's time was 0.5s faster than his 2015 pole time. Raikkonen was now third running on the soft tyre.

Both Williams drivers were still in their pits but it would Felipe out again first. Rosberg still had yet to set a time after an issue with his car. It was confirmed that Rosberg would not be running in the session. Ricciardo and Verstappen were now second and third. The Williams pair were now sixth and seventh. Drivers started to return to the track on what appeared to be long runs as both Williams drivers continued to circulate around the track. With the end of the session the Williams drivers would remain seventh and tenth. But even with their improvement over the first session they both were still around 2.0s behind the quickest time.

Valtteri Bottas:
Valtteri would again start the session running on the medium tyre and would set a 1m:35.059 to be ninth. This would become tenth but with a 1m:34.907 he would move up to eighth. Valtteri would join Felipe in the pits completing his first run on the medium tyre for the session. Valtteri would follow his team-mate out also on the soft tyre. Valtteri was able to improve joining his team-mate at the front of the times setting a 1m:33.493 to be fifth. He would drop to sixth. Valtteri would pit after four laps on the softer tyre. With Alonso going sixth Valtteri would drop to seventh. Valtteri would follow Felipe back out also using his used soft tyres. With twenty minutes remaining Valtteri had completed fifteen laps on his soft tyres. He would pit returning on a set of used medium tyres. Valtteri would complete a twelve lap stint on these tyres twenty in total.

Felipe Massa:
Felipe would start the session setting a 1m:35.467 going fourth but he would drop down the order moving to eleventh with twenty minutes of the session complete. Felipe would be told to pit as his team-mate put in additional laps. Felipe would be the first to return to the track this time on the soft tyre. His first time on the soft tyre would be a 1m:33.801 to see Felipe fifth. He would drop to sixth behind his team-mate. Felipe would also return to his pit after a four lap run. Felipe would drop to eighth to be behind Grosjean. This would become ninth as Alonso moved ahead of his team-mate. With just over forty minutes remaining Felipe would return to the track running on used soft tyres. Felipe would follow his team-mate in having completed seventeen laps on his soft tyres. He also would return on used medium tyres. Felipe would drop to tenth to be behind Button with ten minutes remaining. Felipe would be the first to pit having completed six laps on this run on the medium tyre, twelve laps in total.
