Team Summary:
The final practice session for the 2022 Saudi Arabian GP would commence with
both Alfa Romeo's out running on the hard tyre. More drivers would take to
the track with a mix of hard and medium tyres in use. Both Ferrari's would
come out on the soft tyre joined by the Alfa's who had switched to this tyre
type. With ten minutes of the session completed Leclerc would set the first
time with a 1m:53.106 followed by Sainz. Norris was next out running on the
soft as Leclerc improved with a 1m:31.052 but Sainz would move ahead with a
1m:31.011.Norris was now third followed by Bottas, Zhou and the Williams
pair currently in sixth and seventh. As more times were set we would see
Perez fourth followed by Zhou, Gasly, Norris, Alex, Tsunoda and Ricciardo
10th. The second Williams was now 11th with just under forty minutes
remaining.
Hamilton would improve to be sixth dropping to eighth and Russell now ninth.
The order was now Leclerc, Perez, Sainz, Bottas, Tsunoda, Zhou, Gasly,
Hamilton, Russell, and Schumacher tenth. The Williams pair were 15th and
18th. Verstappen had moved into sixth with Leclerc remaining quickest but
Gasly was now second followed by Perez, Sainz, Tsunoda, and Verstappen. The
Williams pair were 17th and 20th. Verstappen would improve with a 1m:29.768
to go quickest. Leclerc was second followed by Gasly, Perez, Sainz, Tsunoda,
Alonso, Bottas, Zhou, and Ocon tenth. Bottas would go second fastest behind
Verstappen.
Joining the Williams near the back was the McLaren's with Ricciardo, 16th
and Norris 19th. Hamilton and Russell had improved to be ninth and 11th.
Even with a second soft tyre run the Williams pair were 17th and 20th with
Alex leading Nicholas. Perez was able to move into second behind his
team-mate. Leclerc was now third ahead of Bottas, Gasly, Magnussen, Alonso,
Sainz, Ocon and Tsunoda tenth. Sainz would improve to be fourth while for
Williams they would remain in 17th and 20th. Right in the closing moments
Leclerc would go quickest with a 1m:29.735 followed by Verstappen, Perez,
Sainz, Bottas, Ocon, Gasly, Magnussen, Alonso and Tsunoda as the session
came to an end.
Nicholas Latifi:
Nicholas would be first out for Williams running with the soft tyre.
Nicholas was able to set a 1m:34.377 to be well of Alex's pace. Nicholas had
improved with a 1m:32.440 but was still down in 11th. This would become 14th
as more times were set. As further times came in Nicholas would drop to 18th
splitting the Aston Martins despite setting a 1m:32.388. After a seven lap
run he would pit currently 20th. Nicholas would also return for a second
soft tyre run and would set a 1m:31.992 but remained 20th. Nicholas would
have the misfortune to hit the wall seeing him pit after a six lap run.
Having hit the wall he would not return for a practice start.
Alex Albon:
Alex would follow his team-mate out also using the soft tyre. Alex would set
a 1m:32.854 to be sixth. He would drop to 11th but with a 1m:31.943 would
improve to be eighth. After a six lap run Alex would pit currently 13th.
This would become 17th with thirty minutes remaining in the session. With
just over twenty minutes remaining Alex would return on another set of soft
tyres. A 1m:31.374 from Alex but this was still only good enough for 17th.
He would pit after a seven lap run. He would return to complete a practice
start with the end of the session. |
