Team Summary:
With the start of the final practice session for the 2022 Australian GP we would see a Williams out early but they would pit early without setting a time. Other drivers to run included both Alfa Romeo's and then the McLaren's. Norris would set a 1m:21.247 using the soft tyre as we would see both Red Bull cars also take to the track joined by the second Williams. The Williams would pit as Verstappen went quickest only to see Perez go ahead with a 1m:21.024. Both Red Bull cars were on the medium tyre as with forty five minutes remaining we would see both Ferrari's running using the soft tyre. More drivers would start to come out for soft tyre runs including both Alfa Romeo's and Alpines.

Leclerc would go fastest with a 1m:20.689 followed by Perez and Verstappen. Both Williams cars were back out running on the soft tyre. At the front several drivers would go past Leclerc with Alonso now quickest with a 1m:20.119 followed by Sainz and Ricciardo. But the session would be Red Flagged when Vettel was to crash heavily destroying the front of his car. The Williams pair were currently 12th and 14th after their first soft tyre runs. With thirty five minutes remaining the session was still Red Flagged. With the restart both Williams cars would return on the soft tyre. Verstappen would spin at the final corner but was able to continue.

Alonso was still quickest from Leclerc and Sainz. But Norris would move into third. The Williams pair were currently 14th and 16th as Perez went fastest with a 1m:19.720. The Williams drivers were currently 17th and 18th with only the Aston Martins slower. Both Williams drivers had pitted but we would see both return for a further soft tyre run. At the front Sainz was now fastest with a 1m:19.419 from Perez and Alonso. But Norris would move ahead with a 1m:19.117. For Williams they were 15th and 19th with ten minutes remaining. But their second runs would see the Williams drivers improve their times and were now 15th and 17th.

But another crash from an Aston Martin would see the session Red Flagged again. The session would end under the Red Flag with the order Norris, Leclerc, Perez, Alonso, Sainz, Ricciardo, Verstappen, Hamilton, Bottas, and Tsunoda tenth. The session would see the Williams drivers finishing in 16th and 18th. An encouraging session if only from the point of view that their times are a step forward from those of Friday. Next stop qualifying where being realistic it is going to be hard to see both Williams cars make it past Q1. But maybe one that of Alex could do it as he is the barest of margins outside Q2 times.

Alex Albon:
Alex would start his session on the hard tyre but would not complete a lap pitting straight away. Yet to set a time Alex would return this time on the soft tyre. Alex would set a 1m:22.304 to be 12th. With the restart Alex would return using used soft tyres. Alex would improve with a 1m:22.193 to currently be 13th. He would pit after a two lap run. He would drop to be 17th. Alex would return for another new soft tyre run. Alex would improve with a 1m:21.307 to be 15th. His next run would see him set a 1m:20.958 but would remain 15th. With the end of the session he would finish in 16th but just 0.1s outside the top fifteen.

Nicholas Latifi:
Nicholas would start his first run in the session also using the hard tyre. He would pit without completing a lap just as his team-mate did. Nicholas would return using the soft tyre. Nicholas would set a 1m:23.251 to be 14th. Nicholas would return on a new set of soft tyres. Nicholas would also find time setting a 1m:22.622 to be 15th. Nicholas had been involved in some detailed discussions with his engineer regarding where he is losing time with the emphasis being on Nicholas changing his driving. Nicholas would improve with a 1m:22.329 to be 18th. With twelve minutes remaining an Nicholas would return on a new set of soft tyres currently 19th. He would set a 1m:21.050 to be 17th dropping to 18th with the end of the session.
