Really exciting times for us. Hopefully we have a plan. A plan that will see us move forward.

I am sure there will be a plan with that as the goal and a strategy with tactics to deliver it. The hard bit will be delivering it. Great people and processes required to do that! Not to mention a budget! A good step in the right direction though!
Quote:Perhaps it would've helped greatly if Maldonado showed the ability to deliver to the car's potential across the season and not across one race. You can't expect people to rate you if you crash out of the race on your own 6 or 7 times for every brilliant race performance. The expectations in F1 are much higher than that. If he was at least plain average on his bad day but no, he would crash out and score 0 points most of the time with one of the most competitive Williams cars of the last 15 years.an.jo
Not even winning a race (out of nowhere and on merit) could free Maldonado from the stigma.

It's hard to overcome the stigma of being a pay driver. Not even winning a race (out of nowhere and on merit) could free Maldonado from the stigma. It's not the pay driver's fault that the team that gives him a seat judges it to be in its best interest. I never participated in the Latifi bashing and I won't now. Good luck to him in his future racing endeavors.

Mick Schumaker is German
Jos Capito is German
What else is German….. begins with P or V!

Cant understand we're not an attractive team for the drives like Alpine, AlphaThauri and Alfa Romeo.
Look at our history!!
We need to get rid of Mercedes. They are not helping us AT ALL. Apparently they uses their power at themselves and McLaren.
I dont want to send the next 5 years in the shadows of McLaren, just because they got better control over their business.

You’ve hit it on the head though Peter - our history. No driver wants to come near us because of our previous poor performances.
This is why the buy out of Williams should have happened long before it did.

Peterdebel what do you want Mercedes to do to help us Aston copied Mercedes, McLaren do there own thing,we do our own thing,Redbull sister team get lots of help from Redbull but not allowed to win,Hass gets a lot of help from Ferrari but not allowed to win Alfa Romeo will be phasing out Ferrari in the near future but still gets help from Ferrari but not allowed to win so your logic of Mercedes don't help us we buy in the Engine and gear box from them it's been proven time and again customer teams don't get the full engine maps for race's do you want use to go the Haas route because I don't oh and Pappa Strolls team with a little more help from Mercedes were are the in constructders potion slightly above Williams because they have 2 drivers capable of scoring points not one and since the 44b came out not a better car

RE: the Mercedes issue, I think what Peter perhaps means, I may be wrong is the comments from Toto either earlier in the season or late last season that 1 team would have to go and the impression is that’s Williams, what hasn’t helped is the engine from Mercedes this year has been crap.

For balance I was reading an article the other day somewhere where it was saying that LAT received much hate and even death threats over the last GP of 21. That's not on at all and he's only human. Maybe not Fangio Mk2 but nobody deserves that and maybe that hasn't helped him sort his game.
So on a human level that makes me sad and I wish him all the best for his future and his family money has got us through a tough time.
Having read that, I will try to be more respectful for the rest of his Williams career as we've all laid into the guy a bit.

Agree folks. Just trying to make the point that LAT is a human being and maybe struggling with other stuff. He has no place in F1 but doesn't deserve hate. That is all.
