| Montoya responds to claims | |
The media
has previously reported on comments made by various WilliamsF1 team members
regarding the motivation of the teams drivers Juan Pablo Montoya and Ralf
Schumacher. Now Juan Pablo has responded to these claims by saying that none
of these individuals had ever approached him with their concerns.. It
was reported that various comments, attributed to Frank Williams, WilliamsF1
Technical Director Patrick Head and Chief Operations Engineer Sam Michael,
criticised both Juan Pablo and Ralf. Some of the comments reported included Patrick Head saying: "Unless he applies his good deal of intellect appropriately, he won't achieve the results he should do and is capable of." Sam Michael said: "If the driver is informed enough to make his contribution like Michael (Schumacher) does, it makes a big difference." "We're upping our game and they have to step up to the mark too. You can't just sit back and say that it's all down to the designers to get the fastest out of the car." Now Juan Pablo has spoken out regarding these claims by saying, when questioned by reporters at Albert park: "I think you should actually ask the people if they actually made the comments." "They made harsh comments supposedly of myself and Ralf. We both went to talk to them and really, they never said anything. If somebody said something harsh, it was the press, not the people, that said it. "If they're not happy, they would come and tell me. They wouldn't tell you. And they haven't told me anything by the way." |
