WilliamsF1 holds normal meeting

It was reported widely that the WilliamsF1 team had held what could be described as a crisis meeting in order to improve the poor performances of the opening races of the season.

WilliamsF1 driver Juan Pablo Montoya spoke of the meeting by saying: "We had a big meeting at the factory yesterday with both drivers to improve things. It went on for two and a half hours. The conclusion was we need to work harder and try to win.

"We are starting to understand the car a bit more. Things are going to take a bit of time and we know that. At one stage we had a lot more power than everybody else but now the others have caught up and it's not so much."

But WilliamsF1 Technical Director Patrick Head has made it very clear that this meeting was nothing more than a normal meeting that the team holds. As for it been a crisis meeting this is complete rubbish.

Head said: "We have operational meetings before and after every Grand Prix and it was just one of them. The drivers are invited to attend every meeting and it just happened that they turned up this time."

As for the difficult season that WilliamsF1 are having Head said: "We will improve. The new car is very compact and has great potential. I am confident it will get better and better and we are still not too far off the Championship leaders."
