| Silverstone & Monza Test 03:06:2003 Day One | |
| The BMW WilliamsF1 Team
commenced another series of tests, this time in preparation for the Canadian
Grand Prix. This time the team would have test teams at two different
circuits, one at Monza and the other at Silverstone. At Monza test driver Marc Gene was present for the three day test, and by the end of the day had set the fastest time with a lap of 1m:23.016, completing fifty seven laps. At Silverstone Ralf Schumacher was conducting the driving duties. The test was run under sunny
conditions allowing Marc to work through various setup's of the FW25. Monza
is been used due to the similar nature of some parts of the circuit to that
in Canada plus this was an opportunity to test for the Italian GP later in
the year. The day went well without any reliability problems. The team also
spent time on tyre tests. Sam Michael, WilliamsF1 Chief Operations Engineer,
was at Silverstone and had the following comment:
"Despite intermittent rain throughout the day, we have had quite a
productive session in terms of mileage. We managed to make some progress
with the aero testing as well doing some work on the electronics of the car
before ending the day with engine endurance running." |
