WilliamsF1 to appeal penalty

After the running of the German Grand Prix the race stewards imposed a penalty against Ralf Schumacher for his part in causing the accident. The penalty will see Ralf lose ten grid positions at the next race in Hungary.

The blame for the accident was laid with Ralf, for his move left on the track which would result in his car, and those of Barrichello and Raikkonen coming into contact.

Later on it was announced by the WilliamsF1 team that they would appeal the stewards.

"R. Schumacher has been penalised 10 starting grid positions for the next race, and the stewards decided that R. Schumacher had not paid due attention to the cars on his left," said Williams in a statement. "The BMW Williams team will appeal the decision."
