Montoya rumours continue

Despite the denials regarding Juan Pablo Montoya's possible move to McLaren, once his contract with WilliamsF1 is completed, these rumours continue to circulate. The latest rumour has Juan Pablo having already signed to race for McLaren in 2005.

It has been reported in the Colombian media, Revista Cambio magazine, that the deal was done at the time of the British Grand Prix. Montoya's move from WilliamsF1 appears to be based on Juan Pablo's pay package in comparison to team-mate Ralf Schumacher. The reports say that Juan Pablo will earn $12 million at McLaren.

Previously Juan Pablo has commented on his future by saying: "Well, there are always rumours about. Rumours that go one way or the other. Right now all I can say is I have a contract (with Williams) and then after that I'm a free agent."

Such a comment certainly does not discount the story that he has signed for McLaren, or like in past occurrences between teams and drivers it could be simply as a part of the negotiating process to get WilliamsF1 to increase his wages.
