Appeal to be Televised

With BMW WilliamsF1 team appealing against the penalty imposed on Ralf Schumacher for his part in the accident at the start of the German Grand Prix it has been announced that television cameras will be allowed inside the hearing at the FIA International Court of Appeal in Paris.

This si the first time that such coverage of any appeal has been allowed. Formula One Management today announced that the hearing will be filmed by German television RTL.

The hearing will take place next Tuesday, although the verdict is expected the following day. If Ralf loses his appeal he will be forced to drop ten places on the grid for the Hungarian Grand Prix, so that even if he sets the fastest time the best he can hope for as a starting position is eleventh.
