WilliamsF1 driver Juan Pablo Montoya is only six points behind championship
leader Michael Schumacher. From comments made after qualifying for the
Hungarian Grand Prix it looks like his championship aspirations are starting
to weigh on his mind.
He
said that he is going to err on the side of caution rather than take a risk
in Sunday's Hungarian Grand Prix. For Montoya, with his rival eighth on the
starting grid, he aims to make the most of this situation and close the
points gap.
"I'm trying to play safe," said Montoya. "A few years ago I took risks and
sometimes it didn't pay off, but this time I'm scoring the points and seeing
what happens. I admit it is hard to play safe because my foot just wants to
stay down all the time. But I'm trying to stay focused and do things
correctly, trying not to make mistakes and get to the end of the race.
"When you can afford to save taking a risk then you have to save it. For me
I just need to drive as hard as I can and use the head as much as I can. But
if I have a chance to pass somebody then I'm going to go for it and get the
points." |
