Jerez Test 02:10:2003 Day Two of Four

Day two for the WilliamsF1 teams Jerez test would see Ralf Schumacher and Marc Gene continue their preparations for the Japanese Grand Prix. Ralf would continue to be the fastest driver on the circuit.

The days testing would see the morning session run with a wet track, and only in the afternoon did it dry out sufficiently to all the team to move to a dry weather setup.

Both drivers would experience no real problems, apart from Ralf who was to have spin in the morning on the start/finish straight, ending up in the gravel but without damaging to his car.

Ralf would complete sixty laps, setting a fastest lap time of 1m:20.247.  Team- mate Gene covered seventy six laps, achieving a personal best of 1m:21.531.

Both drivers focused mainly on tyre evaluation tests, with Ralf starting on testing the rain tyres in wet and dry conditions. Ralf also worked on the set-up of the FW25 for the Japanese GP. Both drivers would also work on improvements with the cars launch control system.

Ralf will be replaced tomorrow by Antonio Pizzonia. The Brazilian returning to the WilliamsF1 team after his time at Jaguar.
