Test drive for BMW Asia champion

Formula BMW champion to test with WilliamsF1
 
It has been confirmed that the 2003 Formula BMW Asia champion, Tung Ho-Pin, will be seen testing with the BMW WilliamsF1 team.

Guido Stalmann, BMW Motorsport General Manager of Sponsorship and Business Relations announced the test at the official Formula BMW Asia prize giving in Beijing, China yesterday

In what was the first year of the championship in Asia it is now been viewed as a training ground for young drivers embarking on a single seater racing career. This could help to explain the fact that the series, in 2004, is going to be seen in the UK and United States.

"We have been watching Tung all season, and with ten wins in the series this year, we recognise his potential," Stalmann said.

"The fact that Tung has been given this opportunity, will show ambitious and talented young drivers that Formula BMW Asia provides an important and powerful launch to their careers," added David Sonenscher, Managing Director of series organiser Motorsport Asia Limited.
