BMW
Williams F1 driver Juan Pablo Montoya attended the Petrobras Motor Sports
Day, at Sao Paulo. The event was to celebrate the 50th year in the industry
for the Petrobras company.
The 20,000 spectators were shown displays of a wide range of motorsport
categories including Kart, Mini-Baja, Stock cars, Formula Truck, TC 2000.
But the major attraction of the day was Juan Pablo Montoya's demonstration
of the 2002 FW24.
Juan
Pablo was to comment on Petrobras' involvement in motorsport. He said:
“Petrobras has the best fuel in the world. A good part of the BMW WilliamsF1
Team’s performance in the Championship is due to the quality of the fuel. A
good fuel is directly related to a Formula One car’s power, consumption and
performance. It is impressive to see a company that is so large and good for
automobile racing in Latin America such as Petrobras.”
Also Juan Pablo took the opportunity to present a cheque for R$150,000 to
José Graziano, Brazil’s Minister for Food. The money will be used to help
support the Federal Government’s Zero Hunger Programme. |
