| Negotiation difficulties? | |
| In a
recent interview for the German Bild newspaper Ralf Schumacher's manager
Willi Webber indicated that Ralf and the WilliamsF1 team have yet to
conclude an agreement covering the 2005 season. Ralf's current contract is
only till the end of the 2004 season.
With Juan Pablo Montoya already leaving the team at the end of 2004 unless the negotiations between Ralf and WilliamsF1 can be finalised to the satisfaction of both parties Ralf may also be leaving. Ralf told the newspaper: "My goal for 2005 is of course to have a better contract than the current one. I am happy with the BMW WilliamsF1 team, however there are other strong teams too." His manager Webber indicated that Ralf was happy with the WilliamsF1 team but that there were other quick cars in Formula One. As for the discussions between the two parties Webber said that the last contact they had had with WilliamsF1 was in the middle of November. Webber felt that they were close to an agreement, since then thinks had gone quite. It was reported that Frank Williams is believed to have become frustrated with the delays. A source close to the WilliamsF1 team, reportedly told Bild: "Frank's patience is at an end." Will the two parties finals resolve the issue of Ralf's future employment with the WilliamsF1 team or will the team be looking for two new drivers for 2005. I would imagine that BMW would like to maintain the presence of a winning German driver in the team. |
