| French GP to go ahead | |
| It was
announced after several weeks of speculation over its future, that the
French Grand Prix will go ahead as scheduled this year. Formula One commercial head Bernie Ecclestone commented to Reuters: "It's on. There will be 18 races." FIA's Max Mosley added: "They've met all their obligations, all the financial obligations according to Bernie, and therefore the teams have agreed and there's no problem." The race will take place on the 4th July at Magny-Cours. This now means that the 2004 season is committed to an eighteen race calendar, with new circuits at Bahrain and China been included for the first time. |
