Final Day |

| For the
BMW WilliamsF1 team the final day of testing would see a day in which
Antonio Pizzonia would again show his impressive form, after the
disappointments during his time with Jaguar, when he would set a new track
record at the Valencia circuit. He would beat fellow WilliamsF1 driver Juan
Pablo Montoya's record by almost two tenths of a second, mind you he was
driving the 2003 FW25.
The
only disappointment of the day was when Ralf Schumacher had to leave the
circuit complaining of stomach pains. This would leave just Pizzonia and
Gene to carry out the days testing. Ralf was taken to Salzburg Hospital for
a check-up. He spoke of the situation regarding him leaving the circuit. He
said: "The car felt great yesterday, as demonstrated by Juan Pablo's lap
record, and I thoroughly enjoyed driving it. Today, set-up and tyre
evaluations were on my schedule but, due to these abdominal pains, I could
not take part.”
Pizzonia, driving last year's Williams FW25, would set the fastest time of
the day, with a time of 1m:09.165 completing sixty three laps. Antonio would
spend the day working on setups. He would be three tenths quicker than
Ferrari's Michael Schumacher who was second.
Marc would complete a race
simulation, covering eighty seven laps, with a best time of 1m:10.440. The
team will continue their testing at Barcelona commencing next Monday. |
