Ralf struggles with qualifying

Qualifying for the San Marin o Grand Prix would see BMW WilliamsF1's Ralf Schumacher finish in fifth, while team-mate Juan Pablo Montoya would again out qualify him when he finished in third.

Ralf SchumacherAfter qualifying WilliamsF1 Technical Director Patrick Head spoke of Ralf's difficult time when it comes to getting to grips with the single lap qualifying format.

So far this season Ralf has failed to set a time quicker than his team-mate. Head commented on this by saying: "I'm sure Ralf is not happy seeing the 4-0 qualifying position between Juan and himself. My impression is that Ralf has a difficultly in positioning the level of risk to take in qualifying.

"I think in the first qualifying he felt he was being too aggressive. He then overcompensated and was too much the other way in sector one. You only get one chance to get it right."
