Spanish GP Saturday 4th Practice

For the BMW WilliamsF1 team the final practice session for the Spanish Grand Prix would see Juan Pablo finish in an excellent third but Ralf's session would see him caught up by slower drivers and he would be down the order in twelfth. The prospects for Juan Pablo in qualifying look good but there is somewhat of a question mark over Ralf.

Renault's Fernando Alonso would go out first, joined by Mark Webber who was trying to make up for his earlier problems. Both Juan Pablo and Ralf would also take to the track. Juan Pablo would set the fastest time in sectors 1 and 2 and go fastest early in the session.

Ralf SchumacherFor Toyota's Olivier Panis' his TF104 was to stop out on track and he was to get out of the car. Ferrari's Rubens Barrichello would set the fastest time in sector one but would not complete the lap after losing time in sector two. Team-mate Michael Schumacher would move to the top of the times.

McLaren's Raikkonen would be two tenths up on Michael in sector one and would go fastest with a 1m:15.983. He would pit immediately after his flying lap so there was a question was to whether he was he running light? Coulthard would join him at the top of the times moving into second with a 1m:16.196.

Juan Pablo was in fourth while Ralf was down in eighth. It was to appear that in the early part of the session the teams were verifying their race set-ups. With fifteen minutes left in the session Jaguar's mark Webber would go fastest. He would set the best time in sector two.

Michael Schumacher would return to the track and set the quickest time in sector one and two and he would move to the top of the times with a 1m:15.025, leaving everyone in his wake. BAR's Jenson Button would move into second, but was half a second down on the F2004.

Jordan's Nick Heidfeld would move into seventh. Button would be quickly passed by both Juan Pablo and Trulli. The WilliamsF1 driver would set a time of 1m:15.232. Ralf was down in twelfth. But as the final minutes counted down, in somewhat of a surprise, it would be BAR's Takuma would go fastest with a blistering 1m:14.836.

Alonso would move into sixth but was quickly passed by Barrichello and Coulthard. Ralf would be second fastest in sector one but was held up by Klien and could only manage eleventh.
