| Reports
from the host television broadcaster for the Japanese Grand Prix, Fuji
Television, indicate that Saturday's practice and qualifying sessions have
been cancelled. This has come about due to the circuit been in the path of a typhoon, which is expected to hit the Japanese mainland early on Saturday. It was later confirmed by officials that qualifying has been rescheduled for Sunday morning, prior to the race. Pre-qualifying will now take place on Sunday morning at 09:00am local time and qualifying will take place at 10:00am. The teams have started preparations to ensure that equipment is under cover. They have spent the afternoon packing away their equipment with everything being stored in the team garages. |
