The 2005 Formula
One season will see the introduction of many changes to the regulations. The
graphic above summarises the major changes that are going to take place.
According to BMW WilliamsF1
driver Formula One Mark Webber the new regulations will see drivers having
to adapt to totally new way of doing things, resulting in teams and drivers
having to cope with "totally new conditions."
With the introduction of regulations covering the life of engines, a
reduction in downforce levels, and the numbers of tyres that teams can use
over a race weekend, will all result in major changes as to how teams look
at their race strategies.
Webber added: "It is going to need a different type of mentality from the
drivers - both in terms of how you approach qualifying and the race. Now
there will be lots of pressure all the way through.
"You are going to have to use a bit of 'grey matter' and the races this year
will not be over until they are over."
