As the BMW
WilliamsF1 team prepares for the launch of the new FW27 on the 31st January,
the team took to the track for three days of testing Ricardo Tormo circuit
in Valencia. Present were Antonio Pizzonia and Nick Heidfeld.
The
team again focused on the development of components for the FW27, as well as
the continued evaluation of Antonio and Nick prior to the announcement as to
who will be the second 2005 driver from this pair.
Both drivers
would focus on setup evaluations and at the end of the day Antonio would
complete fifty seven laps, with a best time of 1m:11.352, while Nick would
complete sixty laps, posting a best time of 1m:12.293 minutes. Both drivers
will continue at Valencia tomorrow.
WilliamsF1 Test Team Manager Tim Newton commented on the days testing: "We
haven’t tested at Valencia for just under a year so we spent much of the
session re-discovering the circuit and working on set-ups. Progress was also
hampered by inclement weather conditions, with strong winds making it hard
for us to achieve any consistent running. Hopefully we’ll have better
conditions tomorrow when Antonio and Nick will resume testing.” |
