Webber admits to error

For BMW WilliamsF1's Mark Webber the first half of the Bahrain Grand Prix would see him running in a strong third position but with twenty laps left to run the Australian would make a mistake at Turn 10 which would see him spin.

This would not only drop two places as a result of the spin but he would also damage his tyres causing vibration in the car allowing Pedro de la Rosa to pass him dropping him to sixth.

At least Mark has admitted that it was his mistake that cost him a podium finish.

Mark explained how he would drop his left rear tyre onto the dirt at Turn 10 causing him to spin.

Mark said: ''I was pushing really, really hard, and put a wheel on the dirt. 'I couldn't get it back.'

As for the rest of his race after the spin Mark added: ''Pedro kept coming at me, 'and (eventually) it was his corner for the taking.''

BMW's Dr Mario Theissen would also explain that Mark's defence of his fifth place position was made even harder by the fact that the FW27 was running at the limits with its cooling, even with the maximum cooling configuration, and as such Mark could not use his engine to its maximum been fearful of a failure, as happened to Nick Heidfeld.
