| Problem with fuel rigs | |
The British Grand Prix would
see Ralf Schumacher having to contend with fuel rigs that failed at the
crucial moment when his car pulled into the pits for his pitstop during the
race. Now BMW Motorsport Director Dr Mario Theissen has called for the issue
of fuel
rig failures to be addressed, as Ralf Schumacher lost fourth place due to a fault
in his rig and his backup rig during the same pit-stop. When Ralf
came into the pits for fuel and tyres he could only take on tyres after his
rig would not give him any fuel. He was forced to go back out onto the
circuit until the team had solved the problem."It was not the first time that there have been problems with the fuel rig," Theissen said. "Unfortunately this time it was us. In nearly every race, one team or another has problems with refuelling so improvements are really required." "Ralf lost fourth place because of this today." |
