| 2003 engine ready to use | |
| Even with the success of the
2002 P82 engine, BMW has been working on its replacement for the 2003
season. Such has been the effort put in by all those at BMW's F1 engine
design and production facility that the new 2003 engine is ready to use. The new design for the 2003 is well on schedule, with BMW Motorsport Director Gerhard Berger announcing: “We began to develop the engine for the season 2003 already at the beginning of this year. And it we will certainly be able to use it this season.“ The major focus on the use of the new engine will be in testing, as it is not intended to be used in this seasons races. The current P82 engine has meet the teams expectations and will be continued to be used during the remaining races in the 2002 season. |
