Engine announcement in next two weeks
 

It has been confirmed by WilliamsF1 team boss that the announcement regarding the teams engine supplier for 2006 will be made within the next two weeks.

There has been considerable speculation regarding the teams future engine supplied after BMW announced that they were purchasing the Sauber team. The WilliamsF1 team has been linked with Honda, Toyota, Cosworth, and even BMW. The focus of this speculation has the team using Cosworth engines in 2006 followed by Toyota engines.

But having said that the team has commenced testing of BMW's new 2006 V8 engine and BMW is happy for WilliamsF1 to be supplied by BMW for another season.

Williams said: "We will be signing one contract in the next fortnight at the very most. We're not even certain of (BMW leaving), they've asked us to stay for one more year."
