The WilliamsF1
returned to their winter testing with Narain Karthikeyan joining Nico
Rosberg at the Jerez circuit. With the announcement of the teams third
driver yet to be made, and is not expected to be until after Christmas,
Narain was was to made a good first impression with the team when he
finished ahead of Nico. He would finish in fifth while Nico was back
in ninth.
Narain
was less than two tenths slower than fourth fastest Anthony Davidson. But he
was to suffer a spin during the day and mechanical problems with his car
that would see the red flag come out.
Sam Michael, Technical Director, WilliamsF1 Team commented on the days
testing. He said: “Today in Jerez, Nico concentrated on stabilised
temperature runs, mechanical and aero set-ups. It was another productive day
during which we gained valuable mileage with the mechanical components on
the interim FW27C.
Narain also drove for us today, spending some time familiarising himself
with the car, carrying out long runs, systems checks and calibration work.” |
