Despite topping the time sheets Fernando still thinks that there is still work to be done to the new MP4-22 as the season approaches rapidly. Fernando is still cautious about his other rivals at both Ferrari and Renault.

At the time Fernando was talking to the Spanish network Telecinco at the test at Jerez.

"It's hard to say. The times are good and others are following us closely but the car is not prepared yet for Australia and there's not much time left," Said Alonso.

"I hope that in Barcelona and Bahrain we can get it running well in two weeks,"

Ferrari seems very good and Renault will come out strong at the start of the season, but they will struggle to maintain that pace as usual," he added.

Mclaren are still doing extremely fast times on the circuit and the reliability is better than other teams and other previous seasons at Mclaren. This is a good start to their campaign. Both drivers are reported to be happy with the car this year, and with the reliability looking tremendous as well, this may be Mclarens year to shine.
