Despite talks and rumors that the young Japanese Sakon Yamamoto would replace him this weekend, the decision has been postponed and Montagny will have the honor of competing in his home race.

The United States GP was supposedly the French Driver's last race, but it was a complete disaster through no fault of his own, and his time as a race drive could not end this way, particularly as his home GP was only a matter of weeks away. Thus the team has given Frank Montagny a final gift, for him to compete in what will most likely be his last race for Super Aguri in France. The Super Sub who stepped in for outcast Ide has done a competent job in tough conditions, often baring the brunt of reliability issues.

"I know this will be my last race with Super Aguri but how happy I am that I can race at my home Grand Prix! I am super happy, fully recharged and in better form than ever, I have fans who will come to support me, this is the dream. Well, almost as the dream would be that I was able to fight for victory, but that is too big..."

Montagny completed his first Grand Prix in the glamorous Monaco circuit, and later fought the car to the finish to give Super Aguri only their second double car finish. Bonne chance Montagny, lets hope he has his best ever F1 race this weekend and leaves on a high. I'm sure we have not seen the last of this talented French driver (and not only because he is being retained as the team's 3rd driver).
