Two weeks ago in Malaysia Super Aguri managed to punch well above their weight and impress so far with their good performance and by avoiding any collatoral damage. With a noticably new frontwing to try and stay in touch with their competitors, will we get another inspiring performance in Australia?

sorry for being so late! but better late then never for this GP's edition of my preview:

I felt in Malaysia we got a little taste of what Super Aguri was about, critics can point out that they finished last and other obvious and negative points. But what most people saw that race was a spark of their racing spirit, Lord knows how with that ancient rushed chassis, underprepared personnel and hardly any testing, they managed to compete with a few teams during the race and line up infront of so many cars. Should they not be the ones with the reliabilty issues?, should they not be the ones that are aeons behind anyone else? If so then what a pleasent suprise Super Aguri turned out to be!

So what can we expect for Australia? Super Aguri has proven they can (at least) go the distance with one of their cars. Their competitors have made some upgrades for their car but Super Aguri has also managed to create a new front wing hoping to keep that gap if not close it down.

Qualifying was the usual story, but Taku who has largly been impressive so far, has managed to stay one and a half seconds behind Monteiro, but it seems the gap to the top is growing as the top teams have a relentless charge to push development to the limit. The car is really starting to show it's age and no matter how much potential it may have, it will not be enough against the brand new 2006 cars being fielded by all other teams, the SA06 cannot come soon enough. The team has come a long way since it was first concieved and are going from strength to strength, perhaps Ide can complete his first race? here's hoping SA manage to bring both cars to the finish in one piece!
