Anthony Davidson has been testing in F1 since the stoneages, competing in only three grand prix but has failed to finish. Davidson is held in high regard and it has been revealed that Aguri would like the long time test driver to fill his second seat next year should Davidson and Honda be willing.
Aguri Suzuki has said "Next year Anthony would be fantastic for us." and continues the praises for British tester sensation "He has the experience to help us make real progress."
The president of Honda Racing Yashiro Wada was endorsing the speculation, adding "I would certainly recommend Super Aguri to take Davidson".
Could it really be that Anthony Davidson will really get his big break as a full time F1 racer next year courtesy of Super Aguri?
update: Various sites claim that "according to a source at Honda racing" Davidson will be driving for Super Aguri next year, although it is not known how much truth these words hold. It would make sense if Honda finish 4th in the standings therefore not able to use a third driver thus Davidson would have no active role during the Gp weekend.
update: 18 - 9 2006, even more fuel added to the fire by Nick Fry quoted as saying, "If Super Aguri would like Anthony, we would be very pleased, because he deserves a chance", "Obviously both Aguri and Anthony have to decide. But we would like very much Anthony to drive for Aguri". Couple this with the quotes from Aguri and you get the picture.
Davidson has shown promise and speed in F1, back in 2001 racing in the British F3 Championhip he finished second, only 70 points down on Sato last time the two raced together. With the links that Honda and Super Aguri have, it would be possible and likely... unless a certain Yamamoto sparkles brighter then the north star in the few remaining races.
