Newcastle have been handed a boost ahead of Wednesday night, as PSV Eindhoven will be missing Arjen Robben, Theo Lucius and Kevin Hofland.
An MRI scan on Robben revealed that he has suffered a three centimetre tear to his hamstring. Such an injury would normally rule a player out for the rest of the season, but Robben is still hoping to make Euro 2004.
"The European Championships start in six weeks time," Robben told PSV's website. "I think that I will be totally fit then."
Both Lucius and Hofland failed final fitness tests on Monday. Lucius will be sidelined through a hamstring injury, while defender Hofland is out due to knee problems.
PSV's Andre Ooijer and Ernest Faber are also struggling with injuries and could yet miss the game.
