Jordan's deal with Ford for 2003 is not all that it was reported to be. It emerges that there is no works deal and that EJ will pay up to 50 million dollars for a supply of engines next season. EJ said: "Jaguar is the works team, Jordan is a private team. They are two different things."
It is understood that the deal is partially underwritten by DHL, the teams main sponsor.
"Ford have yet to make it official," said Eddie, "but it was signed at a very late hour. There was no-one from Ford there to make the announcement, and I was given permission to tell journalists that the deal had been signed."
Jordans EJ13 will however carry the Ford Oval and will be in direct competition with Jaguar. At least for the next season.
