Could next years Jordan driver line up be sorted already?  Eddie Jordan has publicly suggested that there may be a seat for Sauber’s Nick Heidfeld.  Heidfeld’s contract with Sauber ends this year and it doesn’t look like the Swiss team are going to keep him on.

Ralph Firman has already expressed a wish to stay with the team for 2004 and team mate  Giancarlo Fisichella has already expressed the opposite.  With Giancarlo’s empty seat filled by the German driver, Jordan could look to Heidfeld’s links with Mercedes for a possible supply of cheap V10’s for next year, also Heidfeld can potentially bring a nice amount of sponsorship from Red

Eddie Jordan commented: "Heidfeld is always an option. If Sauber do not want him then he is welcome here.”

It would be an interesting move for Nick and perhaps a straight swap at Sauber for Giancarlo.
