Jordan duo Giancarlo Fisichella and Zsolt Baumgartner have qualified in 13th and 18th place for the Italian Grand Prix at Monza tomorrow afternoon.
Zsolt's inexperience in formula one showed with a lap that was very scrappy. Zsolt seemed afraid to push the car into the corners and lapped in 1'25"881. Fisichella, keen to please his home crowd was on an absolute flyer and put in a "Monumental" lap putting his EJ13 on the 7th row of the grid for tomorrows race. His lap was three seconds faster than Zsolt's.
Giancarlo was interviewed by ITV-F1's Louise Goodman after his lap. " It was a great lap - a perfect lap" said the Italian. "The car is much better and more consistent than yesterday. I hope to get to the end of the race and score some points."
Louise asked him if he was more optimistic for the race than he has been for most of the season. "Honestly, No" was the very straight response. "I just hope to get to the end and score points"
So do we Giancarlo. So do we!
