An action packed Austrian Grand Prix saw Giancarlo Fisichella bring his EJ12 home in 5th Place. An excellent finish, scoring Jordan and Honda's first points in 2002. All this in light of a massive smash involving Takuma Sato and Nick Heidfeld.
A suspected suspension failure on Heidfeld's Sauber caused it to lock and spin on the approach to turn two, the Remus corner at 190mph. The car, completely out of control narrowly missed Juan Pablo Montoya's Williams but smashed into the right hand sidepod of Takuma Sato's EJ12. Taku was airlifted to hospital for routine checks, however, Eddie Jordan was able to confirm that Taku was sat up and talking to people in the medical centre.
