Eddie Jordan has thanked the staff at the teams Silverstone HQ for all their efforts over the last few weeks which has culminated in the teams first points of the season in the Austrian Grand Prix. The team has worked hard on the reliability issues which dogged the first grand prix of the season.

Further aerodynamic work had also been carried out on the car's front wing raced at the A1-Ring for the first time. 

Eddie took time out to comment on the horrific smash involving Takuma Sato. "Takuma's accident was horrific, really a miracle," he said, adding later (jokingly), "...having seen the chassis I don't think I'll be asking Gary to see if we can turn it back into a runner."

Turning back to the issue of performance he told the team: "Two points is two points and we have a lot of work to do to get where we want to be, but this is a start and a clear move in the right direction. After the start to the season we have had, to finish ahead of McLaren and Renault is satisfying, but we will have to redouble our efforts and keep pushing. We have all seen in certain media in recent weeks that they think our restructuring was only about saving money, when in fact a key reason was to create a tighter, meaner team with the flexibility to move quickly and get results. Yesterday's result is the first sign of that and we must try and build on that."
