Will it be Jos?

The other JV.

There's a rumour again doing the rounds saying that Jos Verstappen has signed with Jordan for a 2004 drive and that Trust will replace Benson and Hedges as the teams title sponsor.

The mill says that Jos will be confirmed as the first of Jordan's two drivers for 2004 on Monday, even going so far as to specify a time between 11am and 2pm!   An interesting prospect if true but as yet, there's no word from Dadford Road.

Jordan are going to Barcelona for three days to test parts on old EJ13 and these tests start in less than 10 days time.  It's understood that Nick Heidfeld has signed a preliminary deal with Jordan and has been familiarised with the EJ13.  He's perhaps the safest bet to be driving at the test, but it's entirely possible that Jos will take the wheel if the rumours prove true.

The official Jordan site says "Drivers for the testing dates are yet to be announced, as Eddie Jordan carefully evaluates the shortlist of available drivers before deciding who will best complement the team's 2004 package".  That shortlist still includes incumbent driver Ralph Firman and Allan McNish.

Jordan are expected to debut the EJ14 at a test in Silverstone on 4th and 5th February.
