Jordan scotch rumours about Eddie Irvine

Jordan Grand Prix have moved to scotch the rumours that Eddie Irvine is to move to the team next year at the expense of either Giancarlo Fisichella or Takuma Sato.

Jordan's Official Site says that "Jordan Grand Prix has pointed out that rumours concerning the possibility of Eddie Irvine driving for the team next year are 'entirely baseless and without any foundation.'  A fabricated story has appeared in several British newspapers and websites without any approach to the team being made to verify the rumour."

It would be interesting to see however as the rumour mill starts churning. Eddie Jordan isn't one to keep drivers on if they don't perform. Contract or no contract.

I think we'll see more on this story as the season progresses.
