Eddie Jordan has gone on record as being "Overjoyed" at the news of the BRDC's agreement with Bernie Ecclestone over the British Grand Prix.

Silverstone after all is the just across the way from the teams headquarters and the team regularly test at the circuit.

"The teams have agreed to do the race." he said. "It will cost us money but I think it is justified, not just because most of the teams are based within this area but also because it's important for our fans and staff and the history of grand prix racing, so I'm overjoyed that this has happened." said Eddie.

"There's also so much history here for me, I started up the team in a lock-up unit inside the circuit and before that I used to come over to the Grand Prix from Ireland as a young man. It is important, not just for me personally, but also the people who have put so much into this for years." he continued.

"It is special and although the emphasis in F1 is changing with Grand Prix in state-of-the-art facilities at new tracks and also being staged in the centre of major cities, the investment for Silverstone is guaranteed and we have to make sure the five years becomes a further five years."

"The future of Silverstone is on a much better footing today."

All we need now is for the circuit to announce that the three day general admission ticket will cost £90.00 again this year.
