Jordan's best qualifying session of the season saw Giancarlo Fisichella place 6th on the grid for tomorrows German Grand Prix. Fisi qualified one place higher than Honda powered rival Olivier Panis. Fisi is back on top form only one week after a 34g accident which kept him out of the French Grand Prix. Takuma qualified in 12th, his highest position so far this season.
Giancarlo:
"I am very pleased. This morning I didn't believe we could be sixth,
although I was confident that we could be in the top ten. Top six is really good
and we actually had the chance to be fifth. I worked very well with my engineer,
the team did a good job and the step forward with the engine was an especially
good help."
Takuma:
"It was frustrating that I lost about 15 minutes during practice this morning
due to a problem with the exhaust because we spent some of the qualifying
session improving the set-up. We managed to fix the oversteer problems I
had at the beginning of qualifying but we could have improved more if we had
started qualifying from a better position, so that was a shame. Still, this is
my best qualifying of the season so I'm quite pleased."
Gary Anderson:
"At the end we thought fifth was possible, but we didn't quite get the lap
in. I'm very pleased with Giancarlo, it's good to see him back. Takuma also did
a good job."
