The plagues of Rubens Barrichello

After the Austrian GP there was much controversy about Ferrari and team orders. The world council gave Ferrari a million-dollar fine and this could have been easily avoided if Rubens would recognise his part in the team and play that part well. The state he is in now, is not the best for Ferrari.

Its been stated that Rubens Barrichello was given the call to move over with plenty of time left in the race. He is the one who decided not to move over until the final straight away. The court said that Ferrari was fined because of the displays on the podium. However, Michael Schumacher who was the conductor of these antics cannot be totally blamed for it. This is a guy who has never been booed in his life. Again, it wouldn’t have happened if it weren’t for Barrichello not moving over until the last possible second. It wasn’t the first time Barrichello did this either, he did the same thing last year at the same race, only it was for second.

Irvine was a good man and a team player that knew his part in the team and played it well. He knew Schumacher was better and he admitted it. Barrichello’s ego is much too big to do something like that. He hardly outqualifies, outraces, or outpaces Schumacher, but he still refuses to compliment Schumacher or recognise the clause in his contract that says he must pull over for Schumacher. Irvine made it look like he was in trouble and made the pass look legitimate. Barrichello makes it so everyone can tell and disappoints the fans.

In the past, Barrichello has not been the best of drivers for Ferrari. Ferrari certainly is looking into what he has done. If Barrichello does not start improving, which he has done recently, his seat at Ferrari will be in jeopardy.
