After the race Shell Track Manager Tobias Tasche said “This was a brilliant, entertaining race and once again the Shell supported Ferrari team proved its reliability in a race of attrition which traditionally sees a high level of fall out. With 55% of the track raced at full throttle the stress on the engine is considerable. Combine this with today’s quite high ambient temperature and there are also considerable demands on the cooling system, so it is vital to run with a lubricant that has superior temperature stability. The high temperatures also mean that there is a risk of changes in the fuel profile as the lighter components risk evaporation, but with the Shell analysis equipment we can make sure that the fuel is regularly checked. Today we celebrate Ferrari’s 150th victory and Shell’s 207th victory, which are records to be very proud of.”
