After today’s qualifying session, Ferrari’s Technical Director Ross Brawn reckons he is confident about tomorrow’s race, even though neither Ferrari managed to get onto the front row of the grid. “After this morning’s session, we opted for a different tyre choice on Rubens’ car,” he explained. “This meant we had to spend time adjusting the balance on the car. However, I feel it is the best choice for tomorrow’s race.”

On the subject of BMW-Williams, Brawn admitted he hoped they had used a special qualifying engine. “We knew they would be very competitive. This morning they worked hard at scrubbing in their tyres and it is difficult to judge their qualifying performance. Anyway, we are close enough to our main rivals to have a good race.”
